Setup: Each player starts with a small deck of cards and a pawn on the starting space of the dungeon board. The dungeon is made up of a series of rooms that players will move through, drawing cards to explore, collect treasures, and avoid dangers. The deck is built throughout the game by adding new cards to your hand, which allow you to take various actions. Deck Building: You start with a basic deck of cards, but throughout the game, you can purchase new, more powerful cards from the market using the gold you collect. These cards are added to your deck, and each card has a different effect, such as moving through rooms, providing additional gold, or even dealing with monsters. The cards you select should complement your strategy—whether you're focusing on gathering loot, moving quickly, or avoiding the Dragon’s wrath. Exploring the Dungeon: On your turn, you draw a hand of cards and play them to take actions such as: Move: Travel through the dungeon to collect treasures or avoid traps. Fight: Engage with monsters that block your way or threaten to catch you. Loot: Pick up valuable treasures that are scattered throughout the dungeon. Earn Gold: Use your cards to acquire more powerful abilities and cards from the market. Dragon Clank: The key mechanic in Clank! is noise. Every time you take actions that make noise, such as fighting or exploring, you add Clank cubes to the Dragon’s threat level. If too much Clank accumulates, the Dragon awakens and could deal serious damage to the players. Managing noise and keeping your Clank under control is crucial to surviving the dungeon and escaping safely. Buying Cards: The market in Clank! offers powerful cards that you can add to your deck, giving you new abilities like extra movement, increased attack, or special actions. As you progress through the dungeon, you’ll want to buy cards that help you go deeper into the dungeon and collect more treasures while balancing the risk of making too much noise. Escape with Treasure: Your goal is to get as deep into the dungeon as possible, collecting treasures along the way, and then escaping before the Dragon attacks. To escape, you must make your way back to the surface with at least one treasure in hand. However, if you go too deep without escaping, you risk losing everything. The deeper you go, the more valuable the treasures, but also the greater the risk. The Dragon’s Wrath: After a certain number of turns or as Clank builds up, the Dragon may attack, causing players who have made too much noise to lose health. If your health is reduced to zero, you’re out of the game. Be careful—each dragon attack brings players closer to losing all of their hard-earned treasures! End of the Game: The game ends when either all players have been eliminated, or one player successfully escapes the dungeon with their treasure. Players score points for the treasures they’ve collected, as well as other bonuses. The player with the highest score wins the game.
