For Renters: Download the U-Haul App: Start by downloading the U-Haul app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Alternatively, you can visit the U-Haul website on a desktop or laptop to make a reservation. Create an Account or Log In: If you’re a new user, sign up by entering your email address, creating a password, and providing your contact information. If you already have an account, log in with your email and password to access your rental history, payment methods, and personal details. Browse Rental Options: Once logged in, you can browse the available rental vehicles: Moving Trucks: Choose from various sizes based on your needs (10ft, 15ft, 20ft, or 26ft). Trailers and Towing Equipment: U-Haul offers a range of trailers, including utility trailers, car carriers, and motorcycle trailers. Cargo Vans: For smaller moves or local deliveries. Storage Units: U-Haul provides self-storage units, with flexible rental terms and 24/7 access in some locations. Select Your Rental: Once you’ve chosen your vehicle or storage unit, select the pick-up date and drop-off location (for one-way rentals). You can also choose between local or one-way rentals for trucks and trailers, depending on your move. Add Insurance and Add-Ons: During the booking process, you’ll be asked if you want to add insurance coverage for your rental. U-Haul offers several insurance options to protect you in case of accidents or damage to the rental vehicle. You can also choose from various add-ons such as moving blankets, dollies, or tow bars. Review Your Reservation: Once you’ve selected your rental, carefully review the details, including: Rental dates. Pick-up and drop-off locations. Price breakdown (including rental cost, insurance, and any additional fees). Enter Payment Information: Enter your payment details (credit/debit card or PayPal) to complete your booking. You can also save your payment details for faster checkouts in the future. Place Your Reservation: After reviewing your reservation and payment details, confirm your booking by tapping Reserve or Place Reservation. U-Haul will send you an order confirmation with details of your reservation. Pick Up Your Rental: On the scheduled day, go to your pick-up location to collect your rental vehicle or trailer. If using the U-Haul mobile app, you may be able to complete your contactless pickup by following the app’s instructions. Check for Vehicle Condition: Before driving off, make sure to check the condition of the vehicle or trailer. Document any existing damages or issues. The app allows you to take photos of the vehicle or trailer and report damages if necessary. Use the Rental for Your Move: Once you’ve picked up your rental, use it for your move or other tasks. Ensure you follow all traffic laws, and take proper care of the rental vehicle during use. Return the Rental: After your move, return the rental vehicle to the designated drop-off location. You’ll receive a notification in the app with instructions for returning the rental, and if you’re using U-Haul’s 24/7 return service, you can return your vehicle at any time. Leave Feedback: After returning the rental, rate your experience and leave feedback in the app. This helps improve the service and provides valuable insights for other customers. Track Payments and Receipts: You can view and download your receipts and payment history from the app or website, which is useful for expense tracking and accounting purposes. Access U-Haul Rewards: U-Haul offers a rewards program for frequent renters, where you can earn points toward future rentals. Be sure to check your account for available rewards.
